Yayasan Islam lodges report against Mutalib
Kota Kinabalu: The Yayasan Islam lodged a police report against
Mutalib, author of the book "IC Palsu Merampas Hak Anak Sabah" on
Tuesday.
In a statement, Secretary General Raden Kakung said an allegation
made by Mutalib is false and has yet to be fully substantiated.
Mutalib's allegation was that genuine Malaysian Identity Cards were
issued to thousands of foreigners in Sabah and that 322,903 are
still being used out there.
"We find it humanly impossible to believe that such a big number of
Identity Cards could have been duly registered and issued over that
pertinent period that illegals were known to have been entering
Sabah," Raden said.
He added the allegation can only create misunderstanding among
people as well as cause distrust and hatred against illegal
immigrants whom Mutalib wants "removed from Sabah".
Further, he has created the impression that the Federal Government
has been according favourable treatment to illegals from Indonesia
and the Philippines, he said.
"Yayasan Islam urges the police to investigate thoroughly Mutalib's
allegation, which he must prove, failing which he should be
prosecuted for making a false statement to the police and the
media," he said.
