Jangan di fikirkan jawatan tersebut

Saya bukan berhajat untuk memperkecil - kecil Dato Syed Razak tetapi usaha untuk mempamerkan diri sebagai seorang yang telah sembuh bagi saya tidak berjaya. Saya melihat bagaimana TV3 menayangkan Syed Razak sihat - tetapi nyata Syed Razak masih tidak begitu sembuh dan kalau sembuh pun masih tidak sihat sepenuhnya.

Bagi saya, jalan mudah untuk Syed Razak menentukan kesihatannya adalah untuk tidak lagi menyuarakan hasratnya untuk kembali berkhidmat. Saya simpati dengan Syed Razak tetapi bagi saya masa sudah sampai untuk beliau melepaskan jawatan tersebut.

ALOR STAR, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- Having recovered well after a stroke attack in April, Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Syed Razak Syed Zain is confident he will be able to return to work on Jan 17.

He said his extended leave would end on Jan 16, and on Jan 17 he would step into his office again where one of the first things he planned to do was to set up a rehabilatation clinic for stroke victims and the elderly.

"I will be back on Jan 17 in a healthier state," he told reporters refuting speculation that he needed to step down.

Earlier, he had handed over alms to the needy and disabled from the Kuala Kedah constituency at Sekolah Kebangsaan Haji Ismail in Kuala Kedah here.

Syed Razak said his health had progressd well as evidenced by he no longer needing a wheelchair, adding that the extended leave had given him the opportunity to make more visits to his parliamentary constituency, Kubang Rotan.

"I thank Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for giving me three more months of leave to help me get better," he said.

Syed Razak also said that while he had been on leave, he did not interfere in the administration of the state or party as the Prime Minister had appointed Datuk Mahdzir Khalid as acting Menteri Besar.

Saya percaya dan berterima kasih atas sumbangan yang telah beliau berikan kepada rakyat Kedah tetapi saya juga sekali lagi percaya inilah masa untuk Dato Syed Razak melepaskan jawatan beliau sebagai Menteri Besar Kedah.
